Cults Limestone Mine Partly Sealed July 2017

As of last week, most of the entrances have seen a digger come along and scrape the overburden down, sealing the portals. I would love to know how they knew nobody was inside when they did it...

Out of the 10 entrances that were in place originally, only two now remain accessible.

Though be warned, the two remaining entrances are small and very fragile with the overburden directly overlying the solid strata which is showing fatigue through cracking, flaking and loose rock faces. If this...

Visiting here after exploring the W T Henley building. Its a good 2 in 1 explore :p
Its nice to see somewhere that's still relatively clean and untagged. Although it will be long till the wrongun's start to find their way inside and ruin it...

History

Not a great deal of history exists about these tunnels. They were used as storage for the old W T Henley/AEI cable works, nearly all of which is long gone. They were also used as an air raid shelter, notable for the amount of First...

Thames Water Nuclear Bunker - Swindon - July 2017

This week, me and joe-of-loath visited the Thames Water personnel shelter which is right on our doorstep, the bunker was designed to house up to 12 workers for around 30 days and they would monitor the water supply in the local reservoir. The bunker itself was built around the 1980's (from research, I could be wrong).

The bunker was fairly easy to get to thanks to holes in the fencing which made for a easy walk to the bunker. There is CCTV (two Ptzs) which appears to cover the recent...

Hello All, looking for some friendly advice...

I have been researching the Shorts Sea Plane factory and the tunnels. No I’m not here asking for entry points It has taken me 6 weeks’ worth of Saturday mornings but I have found 4 entrances. 3 are a no go but the 4th is "Air Shaft 1". Air Shaft 1 is well documented and you can find plenty of photos of it when you google the tunnels. Firstly, I would like to report that there has been some damage to the top of the shaft. it looks as if someone...

Access level med/difficult

After a long time searching for these, (2 yrs ) I was finally given 3 ways to get there. But as the tunnels are in the hands of council and monitored I wanted to be careful.

ACCESS DETAILS REMOVED!

When inside, wow was I surprised. The tunnels were huge, long and high.

History
I can not find much history on these, only that they were WW2 air raid shelters, with men & woman sections and sick bay. Rumor has it they run to the Thames, that is some way away,...

Some time ago, I was lucky enough to join a group of fellow underground enthusiasts on a trip to King William Street. It was bloody fantastic and a massive thanks to those who made it possible :thumb;)

Here's the background information on the disused station, I've read it so many times, I think I could recite it off by heart :crazy

King William Street was the original but short-lived northern terminus of the City & South London Railway (C&SLR), the first deep tube...

Last month I went down to the Refuge, and when we got to the stairs that lead to the upper levels we thought "fuck that", but it's been bugging me ever since and I just had to get down there, so I got a small group together and we descended down one final time, and getting to the upper level is definitely worth the risk. We left the very top floor as there were literally no stairs on the staircase for one, and it doesn't look like there's much up there. Pretty gutted that people have taken...

History (Stolen from Wentworth Estate):

With the outbreak of World War II, Wentworth Estate was selected as an alternative seat of government and a rural command post, offering fewer security problems and more resources than the London Cabinet War Rooms. It is from here that the British government would have operated had it been forced to flee London during the blitzkrieg. Many of the large houses were requisitioned; the golf courses were changed so...

The Explore

This one had been on the "to do" list for a long while, we knew where the entrance was but were told by several people "you have to do it in two groups" & "don't all go in at once".

well after bumping into secca at another site and nicely asked to leave we thought fuck it, this wasn't far away and we didn't want to end the night not having done something so we just went to try our luck, our luck was in.

after a bit of waiting around all 3 of us slipped inside and...

History (stolen from Wiki & Subbrit):

The history of this site has been extensively covered and is so readily available I didn't wish to bore you again, so I have only included brief excerpts.

Lydden Spout Battery is a World War II coastal defence battery built in 1941, West of Dover. Originally armed with three 6-inch Mark VII naval guns on Mark V mountings, later upgraded to Mark XXIV guns on the same mountings....

History

The Chew Reservoir Syphon has very little history, to be honest it has none at all I can find. From what I know it was built as the outlet for the reservoir around 1912 and headed about ¾ of a mile through the Pennines, linking Yorkshire to Cheshire; it was no longer used after Dovestones Reservoir was built in the 1967 as the water was then sent down there. This...

East Goscote / Leicestershire / Tunnel System?

Hi,
I was just doing some background reading about East Goscote in Leicestershire the other day and stumbled over a wiki and local pages which says there was an extensive tunnel system there during WW2 for ammunition storage and the similar ordnance. I just wonder if anyone knew any more about it... according to the article the 'plans' which showed the tunnel layout have been 'mislaid' deliberately.

Me and Whittyboy were skulking around Brid the other day looking for an explore and for fish and chips!,after being fed and watered we carried on and found these Tunnels.Couldn't find out much about them apart from a word from an old sea salt who said they were old covered passages from the late 1700's, reputed to go all the way to the old Priory but at every turn we made they were bricked up.
They might form part of the old sea wall as the brick line sloped down horizontally and...

Hi everyone.

This photo came up in a feed of mine today. A friend is working on a film and is swarn to secrecy where this tunnel is located. It's in cardiff somewhere, I'm thinking based on its construction it's likely to be cardiff bay or somewhere near the millennium stadium. Any body have any ideas?
